Massachusetts RMV: New licenses will curb ID theft, aid homeland security
Hoping to curb identity theft and increase homeland security, state officials rolled out and promoted redesigned driver's licenses and identification cards they say are the most tamper-resistant in the nation.
Joined by public safety and transportation officials at a press conference last Wednesday (Oct. 20) to reveal the new design, Gov. Mitt Romney said the increased security features will "make it very, very difficult" to alter licenses or produce counterfeit IDs.
